Sea Grape Trimming 2023
December 23, 2023. Bennett Landscaping has started cutting down the overgrown sea grapes on the dunes. The Board allocated funds to cut the Sea Grapes to last years height at a cost of $5000. They would have reduced the overall height to a uniform 4 feet in the dune area for $9000. The current height is not enough. The 4 foot vegetation would have been more manageable and would have afforded a better ocean view for all owners. You may feel the extra cost is not worth it but when you break down the cost it is minimal at best. The math is $5000 divided by 60 owners is $83.33 per owner divided by 4 quarters is $20.83 per owner per quarterly assessment. To do it right for $9000 it is $37.50 per owner per quarter. Next, why didn't they trim the bushes and tree on our south east property line that has grown high enough to block the ocean view.
